Snout and Trotter offer a complete hog roast service within the Devon and North Cornwall area.
Hog Roasts perfect for Weddings, Birthday Parties, Bonfire Night and Halloween Parties or for just entertaining a large crowd.
We have commissioned a traditional spit roaster that provides a fabulous visual impact as a whole hog rotates over a log fire and roasts slowly into a beautiful crackling feast. A whole pig takes approx. 9 to 10 hours to cook. Our roaster has been designed by us, to get the best possible results when spit roasting, and built by a craftsman in Devon.
Many companies use gas fired, closed ovens, the pig is hidden inside until cooked; this method of cooking does not have the same smell, flavour or visual impact that a traditional log fire roast has. The pig is an impressive site when cooking and makes a great centre piece to a party.
We provide a complete service supplying a rare breed, free range pig from our small holding, chosen by you if you wish, the full days roasting and the carving and serving. The meat can be served as a sliced meat or in bread rolls with apple sauce and/or sage and onion stuffing.
