We have commissioned a traditional spit roaster that provides a fabulous visual impact as a whole hog rotates over a log fire and roasts slowly into a beautiful crackling feast. A whole pig takes approx. 9 to 10 hours to cook. Our roaster has been designed by us, to get the best possible results when spit roasting, and built by a craftsman in Devon.

Many companies use gas fired, closed ovens, the pig is hidden inside until cooked; this method of cooking does not have the same smell, flavour or visual impact that a traditional log fire roast has. The pig is an impressive site when cooking and makes a great centre piece to a party.

We provide a complete service supplying a rare breed, free range pig from our small holding, chosen by you if you wish, the full days roasting and the carving and serving. We work in with either yourselves or family if you choose to do the additional catering of salads and accompaniments yourself, or with a caterer, which we can recommend, or one chosen by you. We can carve the meat onto platters or for pull it for bread rolls or it can be jointed. We will work to your requirements.

We are currently taking bookings for the wedding season, parties, anniversaries and other special events for 20011 and 2012. We are a smallholding, breeding our own free range, pedigree Oxfords, the quality and the provenance of the meat we supply is of paramount importance to us which means that we only offer a limited amount of pigs each year for hog roasts so contact us now for a no obligation quote or to make a booking and reserve a pig.
